Biggest adventure
Two adventures stand out: a 6-week PNW road trip where we explored national parks, overlanded and lived in our car, and a 7-week European adventure where Astrid flew across the Atlantic and travelled from remote Scotland to Paris, Poland, the Dolomites, Swiss & French Alps, Bavaria and part of the Tour du Mont Blanc. But adventure is her everyday life too - she hikes, camps, SUPs, assists when we mountain bike and road-trips with us whenever she can.
Closest call
In March 2025, Astrid chased a deer while hiking in Muskoka and disappeared for 1.5 hours. She had fallen into a snow crevasse and couldn’t get out. When she finally returned, her paws were bleeding. It gave me about 100 grey hairs. I think she got super terrified too - she’s never run off again.
Why Astrid deserves the crown
Because Astrid has taught me that the best adventures aren’t about how far you go, but who you get to share them with. She’s been beside me through thousands of kilometres, wild trails, mountains, campfires and new countries, always with the same fearless curiosity. She has made an already adventurous life feel fuller, wilder and infinitely more meaningful. She isn’t just my adventure dog - she’s my little partner in seeing the world.
