Canada's Next Top Adventure Dog

Frequently asked questions

Everything humans ask us. If your dog has questions, they can bark at @topadventuredog.

Entering

When can I enter my dog?

Entries are open now and close September 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT. Enter at topadventuredog.ca/enter. Early dogs get the most voting runway, since voting starts September 1.

Is it free to enter?

Completely free. No purchase necessary, ever. Entering and voting cost nothing, and buying anything changes nothing.

Who can enter?

Legal residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory. The dog must be yours or in your permanent care, healthy, and up to date on core vaccinations. One dog per person/email. Full details in the official rules.

What do I need for a great entry?
Why isn't my entry showing up yet?

Every entry is reviewed by a human before it goes live, usually within a day. You'll get an email the moment your dog's page is up.

Are e-collars allowed in entries?

No. E-collars (shock collars and similar remote stimulation devices) can't be worn, used, or promoted in any entry content — photos, video, stories, linked reels, or challenge posts. Entries featuring them will be declined or removed. See the official rules.

What's the Trail Verified badge?

It marks dogs whose humans linked a public Instagram reel or post tagged #topadventuredog. It's a credibility flex on your dog's profile and share cards.

Voting

How does voting work?

Voting runs September 1 to October 7, 2026. Pick your dog at topadventuredog.ca/vote, enter your email, and tap the confirmation link we send you. That's one vote. Come back tomorrow and do it again.

How often can I vote?

One vote per person per day, every day, until October 7. Daily voters are the real MVPs.

What are referral bonus votes?

When you share your dog's page, the link carries your referral code. Each new friend who casts their first vote through it earns your dog a bonus vote, up to 25 bonus votes per dog. The live count shows on your dog's page.

Can I vote for more than one dog?

You get one base vote a day total, so choose wisely. You can spread your daily votes across different dogs on different days.

My vote email didn't arrive. Now what?

Check spam/promotions for an email from Top Adventure Dog. The link expires after an hour, but you can just vote again to get a fresh one.

Do bots or bought votes work?

No. Scripted, purchased, or duplicate-account votes get voided and can disqualify the entry. Play fair, share hard.

Winning

How is the winner picked?

The Top 10 finalists are the 8 dogs with the most valid votes plus 2 wildcard picks from the judging panel. The judges then choose the winner from the Top 10 based on adventure spirit, storytelling, content quality, and community engagement. Winner announced October 15, 2026.

What does the winner get?

The title of Canada's Top Adventure Dog 2026, a year-long content partnership, and a grand prize sponsor package: gear, travel, and fuel from FRAPS, YETI, Baffin, RUX, Glacier House Resort, Sandman Hotel & Suites Squamish, and more. The runner-up takes home their own sponsor pack estimated at $2,500+. See the full prize breakdown.

What are the weekly challenges?

During voting season we run weekly photo themes on Instagram. Our favourites get reshared and can earn bonus votes. See this season's challenges.

Who are the judges?

A panel of trail legends including Gary Robbins, Jason Lucas, Evan Birch, and Jenny Quilty. Meet the judges.

Content & privacy

Who owns my photos and videos?

You do. By entering you give the contest and FRAPS Institute a non-exclusive licence to share your content on topadventuredog.ca and contest social channels to promote the contest, with credit where practical. You can withdraw your entry any time by emailing us.

What happens to my email address?

Entrants get contest updates. Voters only get vote-confirmation emails; voting never subscribes you to anything. Sponsor emails only ever go to people who explicitly opted in. Details in our privacy policy.

A question we didn't answer?

Email alan@fraps.ca and a human (not a dog) will get back to you.
